SQUARE INK-PAD BACKGROUNDS Produce a colorful background in a matter of minutes. Mix and match colors to have the perfect coordinating background for your creation. Supplies: Technique: Pick out 4 or 5 colors of small square ink pads to use. Do not use dark color pads or your background will blend into your stamped image as dark inks are very commonly used to stamp images (black, dark blue, dark brown, etc.). 1. Starting with your lightest color, lightly tap pad randomly on cardstock. 2. Repeat a few times using different colors, moving from your lightest pad to darkest pad. This will minimize the possible contamination of your inkpads. 3. Repeat with a variety of colors until you achieve the look you want. If ink is heavier in places, you will want to leave it dry before using them as background paper to avoid smudging. If you tap some pads heavier than others, the colors will be more vivid in places. Try tapping some of the edges of pads for a nice look. -Try different shaped ink pads for a variety of backgrounds.
