PLASTIC WRAP BACKGROUNDS
Author: Kelly Burton - written for Time to Stamp website

Use plastic wrap and dye inks to create a “faux marble” background.

Supplies needed:

1. Platsic Wrap
2. Glossy Cardstock
3. dye inks (Memories inks – soft leaf and soft stone used for samples)

4. permanent gold ink (Brilliance gold ink used for samples)

Technique:

1. Place cardstock on flat surface.

2. Take a piece of plastic wrap and scrunch it as you hold it in your hand.

3. Starting with your lightest color, tap scrunched plastic wrap onto ink pad.

4. “Stamp” scrunched plastic wrap onto paper. Repeat several times onto cardstock until you reach desired look.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 using 1 to 3 different colors of ink moving from your lightest color to darkest color to minimize the possible contamination of your ink pads.

6. Let dry before using as a background paper.

-avoid using too many colors as the background may seem “blurred.

Ideas to try:

-try background on matte cardstock
-try background on glossy cardstock that has been brayered
-try different color combinations for different looks

**results may vary
